President's Greeting
Welcome to Alaska Bible College!
For over 40 years ABC has been used by
God to develop men and women to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Today
Alaska Bible College continues to be a community dedicated to exalting
the Lord Jesus and to extending His Church by equipping and motivating
students to transform the world.
Alaska is a land of great beauty,
displaying His creative genius in the awe-inspiring Wrangell Mountains,
the majestic glaciers, and the brilliant Northern Lights. However, God’s
work is not limited to that which is seen in nature. Ephesians 2:10
says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (NIV).
I invite you to come to Alaska Bible
College to experience His creative workmanship in your life in a unique
setting that will enable you to deepen your relationship with God, form
a Christian worldview, and develop your gifts and abilities to serve
Christ and His Church. Our classes, relationships with our faculty both
in and outside class, and interactions with staff and fellow students
will enhance your spiritual life. Student Ministry Training, guided by
faculty/staff mentors, will give you real-world experience.
As you browse our website, I hope you
are able to get a “feel” for ABC and to sense our commitment to help you
“explore His Word” and “follow His steps.” Come and join us!
Warmly,
Gary G. Willford
Interim President
ABC welcomes its new President
The Alaska Bible College Board of Directors is pleased
to announce that Mr. Nick Ringger has been appointed to serve as the
college’s new President. Mr. Ringger, an alumnus of the college, will
assume the Presidency on June 1, 2008, replacing Interim President Mr.
Gary Willford.
Mr. Ringger first sensed God’s call to attend ABC as a student in
1991. He and his wife Jeannette sold several successful businesses in
Indiana and moved their family to Alaska.
The two years studying at ABC were in Nick’s words "life changing". Mr.
Ringger went on from ABC to study at Dallas Theological Seminary where
he earned a Masters degree. He has pastored churches in Cincinnati,
Ohio, Southeast Alaska and presently leads the Northern Life Church in
Copper Center, Alaska. He returned to join the faculty of ABC in 2003
and was appointed to the office of Vice President for Academic Affairs
in 2005. The Board is delighted with the energy, vision and ideas Mr.
Ringger brings to the office. While the transition in leadership took
longer than any of us wished, we believe that our Sovereign Lord raised
him up at this time for this task. Please pray with us for the future of
Alaska Bible College. It is our belief that God has great things in
store for the college.
