The purpose of the Alaska Bible College extension is to
provide biblical training for adults in communities unable to commute to
Glennallen. Alaska Bible College offers courses in Anchorage,
Alaska, with two goals:
To better equip believers for ministry in their local
churches.
Extension classes are designed to meet these goals and
the scheduling needs of working students. Pastors, ministry
leaders, and laypersons are encouraged to communicate with Alaska Bible
College regarding specific biblical education needs and how the
Extension classes might help meet those needs.
There are 3 ways Extension classes may be taken:
For Personal Enrichment: A student may
sit in on the classes for a course for their own benefit, but will not
hand in work and there will be no record of the course on any
transcript. The cost is $150 for a 3-hour course.
For Audit: The student will not receive a
grade, though they have the option of handing in work to be graded.
The course would show up on the student’s transcript as an "audit."
The cost is $100 per audit hour, or $300 for a 3-hour course.
For College Credit: The cost is $200 per
credit hour and the student will receive a grade for the course.
A 3-credit hour course costs $600. High school students are
encouraged to check with their academic counselor for dual credit.
ABC will provide transcript for dual credit upon request.
Course credits earned through the Extension classes may
be applied toward a Bible Certificate, a Bible and Ministry Certificate,
an Associate of Arts Degree, or a Bachelor’s Degree at the campus in
Glennallen. However, fifty percent of the credits for the degree
must be taken at the Glennallen campus.
