Clery Act

Pursuant to the “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act” (previously known as the Federal Student Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990) colleges and universities receiving federal funds are required to notify community members who is considered a “campus security authority.”

Campus Security

The U.S. Department of Education defines a campus security authority as (1) A campus law enforcement unit; (2) An individual or organization specified in an Institution’s statement of campus security policy as the individual or organization that has significant responsibility for student and campus activities, but does not have significant counseling responsibilities.

ABC does not have a campus law enforcement.  Law enforcement is provided by the Palmer Police and/or Alaska State Troopers.  ABC refers all parties interested in reporting off-campus crimes or seeking off-campus crime statistics to the Palmer Police Department, located near the campus and dormitory, at 423 S. Valley Way, Palmer, Alaska.
