Emergency Financial Aid Grant Funding & Use

Alaska Bible College received $21,034.00 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. Alaska Bible College has distributed all $21,034.00 to students. There are 30 students at Alaska Bible College eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. 30 Alaska Bible College students received the funding by way of the Financial Aid Administrator making a list of all Title IV eligible students and then dividing the $21,034.00 by the number of eligible students. Each student received the same amount of funds.

2021 Summer and Fall semesters: Alaska Bible College received $62,190. We distributed all of it to the students. We had 8 students qualify during the summer semester. They each received $500. We had 39 students qualify during the fall semester. They each received $420.00 per class they are enrolled in. To figure out how much each student qualified for, the Financial Aid administrator made a list of all students, excluding dual enrolled and audit students, then multiplied the number of classes each student was enrolled in by $420.00.

Follow Up

Each qualifying student was contacted and instructed that the funds are to be used to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care.)
